Prosperity Gospel and the Charlatans
Its no wonder that people get throughly confused as to Gods wish for our prosperity…
I read this post today from the The Carpet Bagger Report
Our fourth and final weenie is Pastor Rod Parsley of Ohio. Parsley is working hard to become the next Jerry Falwell. He has a new book out, “Culturally Incorrect: The Real War of the Worlds,” that has received rave reviews from Zell Miller and Tom DeLay, so you know it’s good.
But just in case the book flops, Parsley has other ways of keeping up his fancy lifestyle. A recent e-mail pitch plugged something Parsley calls the “Resurrection Seed.” He writes, “God has given us a prophecy that certain believers have been called and chosen to sow a significant Resurrection Seed — and to receive a three-fold blessing: A stress-free home and family! Divine health. Blessings of abundance.”
The cost for this blessing is a recommended donation of $85 (but whatever you can scrape up will be cheerfully accepted).
Is there any worse corruption of Christianity than the so-called “prosperity gospel”? Again, I’m no theologian, but I’m pretty confident that if God exists, his blessings are free. You don’t have to pay a charlatan for them. The only thing that will be “blessed” from this stunt seems to be Parsley’s bank account, which will grow fatter by non-miraculous means.
So my thought on the comment is this, the corruption should not lay on the “Prosperity Gospel” or the teaching that is “Christianity is not a call to poverty” but on the charlatan, You are absolutely correct, Gods Gift are free, well almost, You must proclaim them with complete conviction and faith as Gifts of God! after all is it not God that gave us Gold, Silver and Platinum, might oaks, oceans rivers and waterfalls, beautiful people, think about it, why would God wish for any of his children to suffer in Poverty, Again I will say, “Prosperity is a condition of the mind” and through the Grace of God you can change it, But you must Believe.
What is Prosperity
Since the beginning of time man has sought prosperity! But what is prosperity?
Websters online defines prosperity as;
: the condition of being successful or thriving; especially : economic well-being
thefreedictionary.com/prosperity
2.prosperity - the condition of prospering; having good fortune
a contented state of being happy and healthy and prosperous
dictionary.reference.com
1) a successful, flourishing, or thriving condition, esp. in financial respects; good fortune.
2) prosperities, prosperous circumstances
But is this all, I think not
I like the way Napoleon Hill put it best;
To Prosper is to get that which one would want without jeopardizing others
The NKJV of the Bible says
Prosper (ed)(ity)(ous)(s)
To succeed or thrive; to flourish; to cause others to succeed; economic well being
The question that I have is this;
Why do people question Gods goodness? Why would God want us not to prosper? Properity is mentioned and promised many time in the bible
Deu 29:9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
Psa 1:3 - And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Look these up…
1Ki 2:3 - 1Ch 22:13 - 1Ch 22:13
Now I know there are many of you that are going to give me the trusty old, Your taking these out of context, its not what they really mean, your not reading the full text, So if this is your response please feel free to SHOW me where, why and how God would wish for me to suffer in poverty
I believe that God would wish for you and I to be prosperous, not all will, but, why lay your lack of success on God, have you ever wondered if maybe it is Satan that keeps you in poverty, that keeps your thoughts in fear, lack of motivation, Poverty. Poverty is a condition of the mind, its time for you to change it, Keep your faith in God, look to Christ first and in all things you do, truly emerge yourself in Gods word and have faith,
be careful as to what man teaches as man is fallable, Christ is not!
Affirmations | Needed in Todays Negative World
Heres a blog that I cam across that I really think is terrific
Heres a quick excerpt;
For an affirmation to work, it needs POWER…
POWER comes from God through Christ…
“Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” 1Corinthians 1:24
“By the word of truth, by the power of God” 2 Corinthians 6:7
And, the Bible is this truth, this wisdom, this POWER packaged up in WORD form for our benefit…
